On January 12th an earthquake shook Port-au-Prince leaving thousands dead and many more without food, water, or shelter. Now, more than a month later, Compassion International is still standing with the people of Haiti.
Compassion has been meeting the physical and spiritual needs of Haitians for more than forty years and will continue to serve them in this time of extreme need. Already Compassion International has supplied more than 15,000 families with clean water, food, blankets, temporary shelter, medical supplies and counseling.
Your donation will lay bricks, feed, educate, clothe, heal and rebuild Haiti in Jesus’ name for many months to come. Please give.

What’s Been Happening?!
With the weather we’ve been having here in the Midwest (snow storm after snow storm) I’m happy to have had the privilege of traveling to a few warmer climates in January.
One of those trips was to Los Angeles, CA. I’ve been mentioning our documentary film Waiting to Rise in the last couple of newsletter and I’m happy to report that we have been approached by an entertainment company out of Sherman Oaks, CA that is interested in acquiring the rights to worldwide marketing and distribution. We received a proposal from them in December and flew out in January to meet them in person. Now we are in the process of working out the details of what this means, and the next steps that need to be taken to work together to get Waiting to Rise out to bookstores across the country and hopefully around the world. It’s been exciting to see God opening the doors for us to share this message with more and more people.
This is not the only exciting news that has been happening in RISE. We have also been working with cities to bring Rise on the Road to them this summer or next summer. We have been in Kokomo, IN, Wausau, WI 2011, we are heading to Eldora, IA this Friday to meet with them because Eldora is going to be our first Junior High trip, and we’re excited to be offering this to youth groups. When we get back from Eldora we are back on the road to share ROTR with Kokomo for a second time and then off to a new city Wisconsin Rapids. Plans are in the works for another location for this summer Canton, SD and we’re beginning the steps to do one international trip next summer. Last week Monday I had the privilege of speaking at Western Christian Chapel and then on Wednesday I spoke to a couple of their local church groups, with the Holidays it had been awhile since I had the chance to speak, and it was great to be able to share again. March brings us to Council Bluffs, IA for an MDA speaking engagement, then to Michigan for a Youth Retreat I’ve been asked to speak at, from that event we leave right away for a speaking engagement in IL. It’s been exciting to watch God open these doors and add events around each other in the same area, so while we’re out there we can do more.
Another event I’d like to highlight and invite you to is the Barlow Girl, Stellar Kart, and Vota concert Feb. 21 at the Clay County Events Center in Spencer. We’ve worked with both Stellar Kart and Vota and a little with Barlow Girl. I think it will be a great night of Christian music!! Check out www.echoministries.net for more information.
Prayer Requests:
- As exciting as it is to have an entertainment company interested in our film it’s also nerve racking for me because you’re not sure how everything will work out. I ask for your prayers that God will open the doors for us and Trillian Entertainment to share His message with many, many people.
- Please pray for the cities that we have been meeting with for ROTR. Pray that all the details will be worked out and that students will have the time to join us to serve these communities.
- With RiseFest on hold this summer please pray for those families that have attended for years.
- Please pray for the travels coming up for us and the message that are to be given. I ask for safe travels, for the right words to say and hearts to be opened.
